I work in a strategic capacity and my skills mostly involve using user centred design methods to inform outcomes e.g. digital products and services.
These methods further help to define start-up propositions or to bring start-up level disruption and agility to traditional industries. My work typically involves future thinking and a deeper understanding of the sector and audience.
I combine my user experience expertise and the knowledge and experience I have gained working in digital, brand communications, service and product design, to work at a strategic level where experience and business strategy intersect. In this way I help clients to design and implement better services and superior digital solutions as well as define a successful customer experience.
In an experience planning capacity, I fill the gap between strategy and creative design whilst strategic design, involves the application of future-oriented design principles in order to increase an organization’s innovative and competitive qualities.

Airbnb Experiences launched in London in Nov. 2016 to give travellers the chance to spend time with local entrepreneurs, talented artists, and experts and experience London in a different way. It's a new product on the platform which, offers the opportunity to enjoy a special tour to some of the city’s hot spots and hidden gems. It also provides the opportunity for Social Good initiatives to exist via the platform. Travellers get the opportunity to connect and have a unique introduction to the city beyond the Big Ben and The London Eye.

Airbnb plans expand its platform to include online restaurant reservations and local sight-seeing opportunities. Travel Startup: Co-Founder
I was co-founder of a new media travel news site. This was an exciting project which served as a great introduction to the online travel industry. We covered technology and startup trends within travel, including blog trips, tourism boards and their plans around travel content, technology, and how travel writers/bloggers/journos can build their businesses in the digital world.
Our work included initiatives with partners like Expedia, GoPro, TBEX, Skyscanner and various tourism boards and destination marketing organisations. Technology wise, we created a real-time tracking service for all the press trips happening around the world.
Tnooz (the travel and technology news site) did a nice write up when the site closed after 2 years.
The site is no longer live but can be found as a theme on Github as a WordPress theme for news / magazine sites.
KLM: Seoul Formula One
Activity based press trip to South Korea in association with KLM as part of their destination marketing campaign. The aim was to promote the new KLM flight route to South Korea. We sent three bloggers to explore Seoul. Specific themes and activities that we focused on were nightlife, food, city and tickets to attend the Seoul, F1 Grand Prix (definitely the highlight).
Content was rolled out across several blogs and Expedia comms.
Branded Content: Taj Maldives, Film Shoot
Whilst in India I worked with the Taj International Hotel Group. One of the projects involved heading to the Maldives for a branded content film shoot at two of their flagship properties - Taj Exotica, Maldives and Vivanta by Taj.
We filmed a number of key experiences (diving, wine tasting, Jiva Spa treatments, island picnics etc.) as to capture the breadth of activities that the Maldives has to offer. The branded film content was rolled out as part of a global comms. campaign.
T5 was an amazing industry publication reporting on innovation in travel and social media
Featuring insights into initiatives of brands, bloggers, innovators and tourism boards. Including a string of interesting product as well as brand related a initiatives. The first to work with Expedia as well as GoPro to launch blogger related initiatives.

A fantastic campaign to support Expedia's "travel shaped people" ethos. Featuring bloggers exploring the beaches of Rio, the sites of Cape Town as well as the lights of Tokyo.

TBEX is the largest global travel blogging conference. As official news partners, we created this video as part of the coverage as well as live streaming of keynote speakers.

Content Creation and Freelance Writing
As a freelance writer attending on behalf of various publications, I've covered a number of industry technology events, local and abroad, centred around service, design, tech and startup culture (combining all my passions).
Activity based content for Expedia's social channels included a trip to Cape Town to film the growing Design community head of Design Capital 2014. This was part of a series of films and other destinations included Tokyo and Brazil.
Asia: Sri Lanka & India
I spent a few months travelling around Asia and the US to create content for Skyscanner. One of the countries that I visited on this trip was Sri Lanka, basing myself at Mirissa beach whilst exploring the surrounding area and exploring local activities so I could develop a travel guide to this part of the country.
Expedia press trip with three bloggers to create snow content for Expedia platforms and brand comms as well as further content on bloggers' own blogs. Content covered product reviews (snowboards and filming equipment sponsored by GoPro), destination review as well as review of the Expedia snow app used to book the group snow trip.
Further press trips include trips to various Spanishregions (Catalunya, Valencia and Costa Blanca), Austria, Korea, Sri Lanka, India, Texas, California, France, Egypt etc.
I combine travel with my industry experience to include tech and design related coverage and am a regular contributor to Expedia and Skyscanner.
A few events across EU, UK and USA include SXSW, Web Summit, Emerge Americas, Digital Shoreditch, Adobe Summit, World Travel Market etc.
